Just as the other manufacturers keeping their phones like a top national secret before its launch, Huawei seems to take things differently. Being victim of the worst smartphone leaks recently, the Chinese manufacturer is leaking some information of its soon-to-be launched phone itself! Yes, in their official Facebook page. Well, they may be quite tired of other people publishing photos and their phone features before they are yet to make an announcement, so here, they are teasing their loyal followers and tech geeks with tidbits of what to expect with its newest device—Huawei Ascend P6.

Is June 18 For Ascend P6?

Huawei is announcing that they will be releasing a flagship product in London on June 18, but did not completely confirmed that the launch will be for Ascend P6, thus resulting to more confusions. A post in their page last May 29 speaks that the release of Ascend P6 will WOW all consumers as the company had used their best materials and invested a lot into the new smartphone. Huawei also expresses the amount of time and work that they have exerted to produce such phone. Moreover, Huawei also stated that they never really had a chance to explain that we are the best to the consumers, but encourages them to be the judge and let the phone sell itself.

Huawei Launch Promotional Teaser

Rumored Specs and Features

Nothing has been confirmed and we all are basing it through the reported leaks. The images of Huawei Ascend P6 shows that the phone will be one of the slimmest in the market and will come with volume rockers and two SIM card slots located on the right side of the phone. If the rumors are true, below are some of the features consumers may expect.

6.2 mm Thickness

Capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors

Emotion UI 1.6

Dolby Mobile Plus sound enhancement

32 GB, 2 GB RAM Internal storage

64 GB microSD supported expansion

13 MP Primary camera with 4032 x 3224 pixels, autofocus, and LED flash

Android OS, v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean)

Huawei Facing Success and Setbacks

Huawei are selling great phones and it is not impossible that they can rival Samsung, Sony, and HTC in the future with their fast product development. Since last year, they have been working phones to set world records, and their phones features are really competitive. Recently, the Chinese hardware manufacturer made a news in the tech industry by emerging third in the global market share of smartphone sales behind Samsung and Apple. On the other hand, despite the global success, Huawei is still struggling to penetrate the U.S market, facing repetitive denials for market access, allegations of being a threat to US national security, and not so interested wireless carriers. Nevertheless, its products are becoming big success in other markets including the UK. We can just expect that the launch of P6 will bring more positive PR for Huawei.

A long-standing battle among the world’s best technology brands is seemingly unending as Panasonic now has newly invented android gadget to compete with the existing smart phones, but this time, Indian market is the prime target. The company’s android phone is the “Panasonic P51” which has just been launched recently in India at a price of Rs. 26,900 or $517. But this cost is probably reasonable for any buyer considering its features which set it apart from Sony’s Xperia ZR, Samsung Galaxy S3, and many others. And to discover what really those are, this is the overview of phone’s features and specifications:

Everything You Can See and Touch on Panasonic P51

Panasonic P51 has a unibody design with a five-inch IPS display, 720×1280 pixels resolution, and screen made of durable Asahi Dragon Trail Glass with coating of Oleophobic to prevent smudges. This dual-SIM gadget can also run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which is the latest operating system on 1.2GHz quad-core processor. Also noteworthy is the phone’s1.3-megapixel front-facing camera that can record 720p video and 8-megapixel rear camera with automatic focus, and has preloaded apps such as Cam Scanner, Cam Card, WeChat, Kingsoft Office, and many others. As to the memory capacity, the Panasonic P51 has an expandable 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal storage with a microSD card and magnetic flip cover.

Panasonic P51 Specifications

Just like any other smart phones, the Panasonic P51 also has some distinctive specifications that can make it stand out amidst the tight competition in the Indian Market. Specifically, these include the Mediatek quad-core processor with 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, Five-inch IPS display on 720×1280 pixels, 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, 8-megapixel rear camera with automatic flash and focus, Expandable 4GB Internal storage through microSD card, 2,500 mAh battery, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

What Panasonic Says about its New Android Gadget?

It is noteworthy that the Panasonic P51is just the first of a series of phones to be launched by the company in the coming months according to an online source. And the Panasonic’s President, Daizo Ito, said something positive on the phone they bring to the Indian market; as paraphrased, the company has great legacy as a pioneer of innovation and because of that the launching of this gadget signifies their continuing effort to maintain it for the benefit of consumers. It was further added that India has always been one of the company’s top markets and they are confident that Indian clients will get the best mobile experience on Panasonic P5. Meanwhile, the company also collaborated with Jaina Marketing for its strategic marketing distribution and customer support for the series of smart phones to come out.

Nevertheless, there are also some criticisms regarding the cost of the smart phone more particularly on whether or not it justifies the quality or the experience that the consumers can get out of it. But this would remain a theory not until you dare trying the Panasonic P51 and compare it with the existing ones.

A new budget tablet has been launched named Swipe Halo Speed 7-inch. Swipe Telecom, a Calfornia-based company, announced their new Android budget tablet in the Indian market recently. Halo Speed features its 7 inches multi-touch capacitive display that runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Halo Speed runs on 1GB DDRII RAM, 1.5GHz processor with a 4GB internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD. It supports Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity and a capable 3,000mAh battery pack. Halo Speed also captures the most precious moments through its 2 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. Its 800×480 pixels is just enough to give you capturing images and entertaining videos through itslarge screen.

The Halo tablet is capable to support 2G with voice calling feature, giving convenience to users who likes to give a call or receive a call without switching to another device to do the task. This tablet contains various pre-loaded apps that support Flash 11.1, audio recording and Olive Office Premium.

Swipe Halo Speed Features

7-inch multi-touch capacitive screen display, 800×480 pixels

1.5 GHz processor

1GB RAM

4GB internal memory, up to 32 GB expandable

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Voice calling feature

2MP camera, 0.3 front camera with Face Recognition feature

Wifi 802.11 b/g/n

Bluetooth 2.0

3000 mAh battery

User Reviews

The drawback of this capable 7-inch budget tablet is that it doesn’t support 3G. Many users expected dual SIM and 3G but they end up a bit frustrated. The 1.5 processor single core that runs many apps is already good for mid-end gamers and low priced tablet like Halo Speed.

The screen size and display is okay. Others are not so sure whether it supports HD display and HD 1080P video. It is 11.2mm thick and weighs 345 grams. Many are not impressed with the camera. It may contain LED flash but the 2MP will not get you covered. It also poor for Video chat with no good background lights. So, if you wish to use video chat feature through the Halo Speed front-facing camera, better get a well-lighted background.

The expandable memory could be a good option but the battery hardly lasts for one day. The internet and connectivity is good for the priced Rs. 6,990 in India.

All in all Halo Speed is an excellent pick for users who are seeking to just enjoy the entertainment through a very affordable handy device. Then, Swipe Halo Speed 7-inch tablet becomes a great choice.

Last February, Huawei introduced the “the world’s fastest smartphone” with Huawei Ascend P2 at the box. Few days from now, it will be available for users in UK and other countries for them to enjoy a differentiated mobile experience when it comes to faster connection speed. Last year, the Chinese manufacturer started its world-title attempts by bringing the world’s first slimmest smartphones in the faces of Ascend P1 S and Ascend D Quad. Though the title “slimmest” has been snatched by othe phone producers, still the “world’s fastest” title remains.

The P2 Difference

Ascend P2 will run Android Jelly Bean (v. 4.1.2) operating system and built with Huawei’s Emotion 1.5 user interface (UI). Emotion UI for allows easier file sharing and phone customization. It is wrapped in an 8.4mm super-thin frame fronted by 4.7” HD (1280 x 720) “Infinity” touchscreen protected by tough second-generation Corning Gorilla Glass. It’s bright screen is crisp and responsive with Huawei Magic Touch. Magic Touch is another impressive feature that allows users to tap, swipe or poke the screen even wearing thick gloves.

Speed-wise Smartphone

With stand-out speed, P2 can download HD movies in few minutes and can amazingly load videos, websites, songs, and e-books within seconds. The P2 4G is Category 4 LTE. It is the lone smartphone to date with a cutting-edge version of 4G that is set to deliver 150Mbps download speeds. In the UK however, the phone will be too fast for its 4G network. EE only offers maximum speed of 80Mbps.

Cutting-edge Smart Phone Technology

Users will not be disappointed with Huawei’s newly launched smartphone. The super-slim yet durable screen is fantastic, offering extraordinary visual experience. The main camera boasts powerful photography supporting 13 MP featuring High-dynamic-range imaging (HDR). The secondary camera is an acceptable 1.3 MP that supports portrait and video shooting functions. The main-camera basically can compete with your normal digi-cam feature-wise with its advance algorithms.

Unlike its predecessor the Ascend P1 and Ascend P1s with non-removable Li-Ion battery, Huawei is keen to pointing out P2s quite chunky 2,420mAh battery that keeps the phone alive for long hours. The battery life is boosted by Huawei’s own technology–Quick Power Control and Automated Discontinuous Reception–claiming that can reduce power consumption by up to 30%.

Users, prepare yourself to be captivated by this shockingly good smartphone! Huawei Ascend P2 will be available this June in leading UK carriers in two minimalist colors; granite black and polar white.

Lenovo, the famous laptop computer maker, has launched their latest flagship smartphone named K900, as the premium smartphone with a super slim profile that runs on Intel® Atom processor, which makes it a must-have to the first group of speculators at the launch. The unique blend of K900 performance and design outlast the current outstanding smartphone in the market and inch itself in as the first smartphone to use super advance CPU processor.

Lenovo K900 boasts its 5.5 inch IPS screen, best cameras ever in 13 mega pixel rear camera with flash and 2 megapixel front camera, Intel Atom Z2580 chipset, Dual-core 2GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot expandable up to 32GB and an Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 version. Users could almost found what they are looking for a perfect smartphone in K900!

Just like what the makers had said, consumers demand a new top-of-the-line devices as technology continues to climb higher than we expected. So, Lenovo reengineered the traditional smartphone and start the redesigning from the ground up. The K900 is another game changer and it looks as good as it performs.

The Design

The K900 has switched the bar on these aspects. It is the thinnest smartphone in its class with its 6.9mm thick and weighs as little as 162 grams or 5.7 ounces. This makes the device unobtrusively slips in a handbag and your pocket effortlessly. With its stainless steel alloy composition, the K900 manages to stay strong and sharp while maintaining a slim profile.

The materials used are not the only aspects that put Lenovo on the top design milestone for this class. The rear camera has been optimized to minimize that protruding profile, a new sensor was added to match the smooth, clean rear face of the camera that doesn’t snag on clothing.

While the K900 is sleek in design, it doesn’t overlook the emerging trend of clearer and larger screen displays on smartphones. The K900 is one of the first smartphones to integrate 5.5 inches IPS display with the 1080p full HD resolution at 400 pixels per inch, all belong to the latest touch-capacitive screen display. This enables the K900 to produce supreme quality images and videos, with clarity and crispness in viewing standard-sized web pages.

Performance

It is indeed very amazing that the K900 could integrate sleek package with powerful performance as this advert is centered on Intel® Atom Processor platform. The K900 is very responsive and fast especially on application loading and web browsing. Although Intel has yet to uncover the full specifications of the chipset, Lenovo has maximized the opportunity to be the first maker to market the new platform.

Additionally, the 13MP rear camera is distinguished as K900′s best feature. As with other functions, the K900 has overhauled the camera features completely, delivering an impressive package that is truly amazing.

The Lenovo K900 is soon to become available in global markets by June of 2013. Right now, it is available in the select regional markets in China.

Craving for the new android device of cooking enthusiasts is expected to end in June with the release of the Archos Chefpad tablet which is specially designed to aid in having the best kitchen experience. It seems to be an ideal recipe of technology and art as the touch screen and other features are combined with the preloaded cooking apps that can serve as a master guide for any chef. But this 10-inch android tablet running Jelly Bean with 1GB of RAM and 1.6GHz processor is never complete without the back and front cameras that provide opportunity to make an online cooking show. And not only that because with the following features and specifications, you can discover other awesome spices of this tablet:

Features

As already noted, this android tablet is primarily designed to serve as cooking assistant, but it is noteworthy that its function can go beyond the kitchen as it can also be used for personal entertainment which is possible through the powerful dual-core 1.6 GHz and quad-core Graphics processors, front and back cameras with 1080p video playback for culinary image and video sharing, and direct access to many videos, apps, and music through Google Play. It is also noteworthy that the app feature can filter the apps and present only those associated with cooking such as cookbooks and recipes. And despite the kitchen customizations, the Archos ChefPad can still operate like a regular tablet through which you can surf the web or play favorite games.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Archos will be having categories such as drinks, recipes, shopping, cooking TV, and many others. But the certain thing for now is the suggested retail cost of the Archos ChefPad which is £149.99 or around $232 based on the Archos site, but other sources noted that it will be available in June for $210. And this is the overview of its features that can probably justify the price:

Large 9.7 inch and 4:3 ratio screen that is said best for ideal size of apps and videos

Has selection that filters through thousands of apps related to recipes, shopping, drinks, cooking TV, etc.

Easy-to-clean silicone case that can keep the app safe from water or food splashes

Front and back cameras for image and video sharing while cooking

Specs

Just like any other regular tablets, the Archos ChefPad also has quad-core Mali 400 MP4 GPU, dual-core A9 1.6GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM memory, and 8GB of internal memory. Likewise, it has a 9.7 inch screen with 1024 x 768 pixels resolution, front and back 2-megapixel cameras, and able to run an upgraded version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. But the most noteworthy perhaps is its adjustable stand and water or splash-proof feature that can make cooking even safer and convenient. Other notable specifications include the Mini-HDMI, built-in Wi-Fi, microSD card slot, 8GB of storage, and filtering technology.

Aside from the Archos ChefPad tablet which will be released in June, it is also expected from the company to produce subsequent curating apps in various categories as CEO Loïc Poirier promised it in a press release.

Archos announces the new 80 Xenon tablet, especially designed for users who are always on-the-go with comforts of both Wifi and 3G connectivity. This Un-Sim-locked tablet accepts any SIM card that supports 3G network with no provider restrictions.

Display and Processor

The Archos 80 Xenon is another low-cost slate of the Android tablets line-up. It is a mid- range tablet with high specs as the 80 Platinum and 80 Titanium of its brand. The 80 Xenon boasts its IPS touchscreens that measures 8 inches and a 1024×768 pixel screen display. This makes Xenon on par with the other high-end brands in the market like the Apple iPad Mini. It’s interior components include the Qualcomm Quad-Core Snapdragon processor and a 1.2 GHz S4, not bad for a budget brand. It’s memory also features 1GB of RAM, a free storage of 4GB and an expandable memory up to 64GB.

SIM Card Unlocked

Additionally, the Archos 80 Xenon has a SIM card slot. This will enable users to connect to a network of their choice of any country they are in, as this comes straight from unlocked slate tablet. The Archos 80 Xenon contains built-in microphone and speaker, giving users a chance to use the tablet as a massive smartphone. But the said mobile phone ability was not mentioned in their website but it talks about receiving SMS, making a call and a data-on-the-go. It is compacted with GPS combined with Google Maps, 2 mega pixel rear camera, Wi-Fi and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean version.

The Archos 80 Xenon may not be the lightest and thinnest tablet in the market though, as this measures 11.3mm thick and weighs 440 grams as compared to the Galaxy Note 8.0. But regardless of the body dimension features, the 80 Xenon still has an edge when we speak about price. This is set to cost $200 in America and £160 in United Kingdom. The Archos 80 Xenon includes all of the improvements that come along with Android Jelly Bean OS. This includes the infamous voice assistant, Google Now and smoother interface animations that give you excellent experience with your new Android tablet.

Tailor-made Multimedia Functions

Because Archos is an Android tablet, users could also enjoy all of the multimedia functions through navigating the Archos Media Center applications. The applications, like Videos and Music, are tailor-made which includes auto subtitles, metadata scraping and of course the best codec and format support including the 1080p video decoding.

DLNA Compatible

The Archos Media Center also offers the best in wireless media sharing. This is equipped with Samba and uPnP for streaming media from Mac or PC on your home network, for the Archos media server could stream to a DLNA compatible TV sets. This has been the most unique component of Archos 80 Xenon. This takes TV viewing and video streaming to higher level. Watch out for this low-priced and wise buy Android tablet. Coming soon to global market!

Having waterproof smart phone may be once a wish of many mobile users that consequently became real when Sony Mobile Communications introduced the Xperia Z that has notable features aside from being able to function even if submerged into water. But the company really tends to take the lead in mobile competition as it goes deeper by having a new version of the gadget known as the “Xperia ZR”. It is like they are brothers sharing many features and specs as can be taken from the recent reviews, but there are some significant differences between them that are really worth knowing. And the following facts provide an overview of what you can see and enjoy when the Sony Xperia ZR is already in your own hand:

Key Features

Similar to the Xperia Z, this new version is also waterproof and dust-resistant, but its waterproof feature can be said even more awesome because the phone can last up to 30 minutes when submerged in 1.5 m of fresh water, and becomes lighter as the rear cover is now plastic unlike the glass of the other one. Its longer resistant is possible because it is an IP55 and IP58 compliant and the camera becomes more useful as the user can now shoot Full HD videos or take pictures under water even if the phone screen is locked.

That is really amazing because Sony is featuring the “Exmor RS for mobile” image sensor with High Dynamic Range for videos and photos to capture any action faster regardless of the condition and have unlimited number of images with 15 frames each second by simply turning on the burst mode. Not only that because the Xperia ZR also has Battery STAMINA Mode that can enhance the standby time of the phone by four times or more and it comes in classic and unique colors such as white, black, mint, and pink to fit the varying preferences of users. Meanwhile, the following are the summary of the features of Sony Xperia ZR:

Waterproof and dust-resistant through IP55 and IP58

Fast capture 13MP camera with HDR and “Exmor RS for mobile”

Excellent battery life with Battery STAMINA Mode

Sharp viewing with 4.6” HD Reality Display that has Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2

Better smart phone performance with 2GB RAM of Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 Pro quad-core 1.5 GHz processor

Specifications

It is noteworthy that the Xperia ZR somehow follows the design of Xperia Z but without the premium materials and slim lines to make it more waterproof. And it also appears to be the same with Sony’s ZL with 10.4mm-thick plastic body and the sensor of the 13MP rear camera is said to be like the one used on Xperia Z that is primarily designed for underwater videos and photos. Further it has 4.6″ screen that has “Reality Display” marketing tag with 720p panel and its colors include white, pink, black, and mint. Other specifications include the 8GB storage phone memory with MicroSD that can expand up to 32GB and 2GB of RAM functioning with1.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon Pro processor and NFC sharing functions in the video.

With the given features and specifications, it seems that Calum MacDougall, director of Xperia marketing at Sony is correct by saying that the “Xperia ZR pushes the boundaries on where and how consumers can use the full potential of their smartphone.”

Huawei has the fad in creating global records creating the “world’s fastest” and the supposedly another “world’s thinnest smartphone” to date, but it seems that Samsung is working its way to create a milestone in the tech history by claiming they are preparing to launch a 5G network in 2020. A network that will change the landscape of data speed as reports suggests 5G network will come hundred times faster than the present 4G.

Samsung Claims Data Transmission Innovation

Samsung‘s claim may have surprised tech geeks and telecommunication big-wigs out there. On the other hand, the report should not be surprising. Technology innovates almost daily, and with the competition among tech giants, many may just shake their heads upon hearing a news that one business is starting to fund a 6G research.

5G mobile communications technology will be the successor of 4G LTE networks. Samsung claims that the technology can offer data transmission speed tens of GPBS ever base station. Once it is commercialized it will allow subscribers to transmit large volumes of data including HD videos, 3D movies and games, remote medical services, and other ultra-high-definition (UHD) content over long range of distances to span up to 1.2 miles (2 kilometers).

Ultra-Fast Internet Speed

Samsung’s success in developing an adaptive array transceiver was seen to be the clear solution to overcome the limitations of transmitting data over long distances. The Millimeter-Wave Transceiver Technologies for 5G Cellular Networks was secured by the South Korean telecom mogul and it is the innovative tool to signal a new era for mobile communications. The 5G transmission speed would mean that it will be possible for an entire 640MB CD to be downloaded in 5 seconds, or a standard 4GB DVD in 30 minutes. In such fast speed, user experience will be better than what the 4G LTE offers.

The University of Surrey, Centre for Communications Systems Research (CCSR) in the UK spearheads the research of the reported ultra sophisticated communication technology. It has £35m in funding and would employ 130 researchers and 90 PhD students to complete the project aiming to be the forefront of technology in a fast-moving and interconnected world.

Not Only Samsung

Professor Rahim Tafazolli, the head of the 5G efforts suggests that the endeavor will not be easy.
